Are microneedling and skin needling the same thing?
The terms are often used for the same type of treatment. SkinPen is the microneedling device used at FutureSkin. It creates controlled micro-openings in the skin; it is not a laser or a radiofrequency treatment.
Can I have SkinPen if I have active acne?
Acne scars and active acne need different considerations. Let us assess your skin first. Active inflammation, infection and some skin conditions may mean treatment needs to be postponed or another approach discussed.
What will my skin be like afterwards?
Redness, warmth, tightness, swelling and dryness can occur. Recovery varies. We’ll explain aftercare, sun protection, which products to pause and when to resume makeup and exercise. Allow recovery time when planning around an event.
Are there risks?
Microneedling isn’t suitable for everyone. In addition to temporary redness and discomfort, risks include infection, pigment changes and scarring. Tell us about your medical history, medicines and recent treatments so we can assess suitability.
How many appointments will I need?
That depends on the concern and your response. Changes develop gradually, and a series may be discussed. We’ll explain timing and costs and review progress before planning further appointments. Results vary.
How much is SkinPen at FutureSkin?
Our listed SkinPen appointment is 60 minutes, from $550. We’ll confirm the proposed treatment and total cost with you before you proceed. Your initial 45-minute skin consultation is complimentary.
